Little Ariana sat quietly on the warm ground, her tiny fingers playing with a fallen leaf while the morning sun filtered through the tall trees. She kept glancing toward the forest trail where Daddy Aron had disappeared earlier. Every time a branch rustled or the wind carried a faint sound, her eyes lit up with hope. Ariana adored her father—his calm nature, his playful tricks, and the way he always carried her on his shoulder during long walks. She wanted nothing more than to follow him today.
But Mom Anna was firm. She kept Ariana close to her chest, her arms wrapped protectively around the small, energetic baby. Anna wasn’t angry—just cautious. Aron had gone searching for food in an area farther from their usual territory, and Anna feared it was too dangerous for young Ariana. The forest was unfamiliar, full of hidden risks that Ariana was still too young to face.
Ariana didn’t understand. She tugged gently at Anna’s fur, letting out soft, pleading whimpers. Her little face looked confused and disappointed. She wasn’t trying to rebel; she simply wanted to be with both parents at once. She believed every adventure was better when the family was together.
Anna stroked Ariana’s back, trying to soothe her. She whispered soft comfort, showing her daughter that staying safe was more important than exploring right now. When Ariana continued to pout, Anna lifted her higher, nuzzling her tiny cheeks until Ariana finally relaxed.
Minutes later, the sound Ariana had been waiting for echoed through the trees. Aron returned, his familiar footsteps steady and warm. Ariana brightened instantly. Anna allowed her to reach out toward him—but still kept her close.
For now, Ariana stayed with Mom.
But seeing Dad again was enough to make her little heart happy.
