The baby monkey was sad and cried a lot because the time for weaning had come

In the heart of the jungle, a little baby monkey clung tightly to his mother’s warm belly. His name was Tobi, a tiny, soft creature with bright eyes and a gentle cry. For months, he had found comfort and safety in nursing from his mother, but the time for weaning had finally come. His mother, wise and loving, knew it was time for Tobi to grow more independent.

One morning, as the sun painted golden rays across the treetops, Mama Monkey gently pushed Tobi away when he tried to nurse. Confused, he reached again, only to be softly nudged back. Tobi didn’t understand. His big, watery eyes looked up at her, and with a trembling lip, he began to cry—soft at first, then louder and longer.

He followed his mother, reaching for her chest, hoping she would change her mind. But she stayed firm, offering him fruits and leaves instead. Tobi tossed the food aside, curling into a ball and crying in frustration. The other monkeys watched quietly, knowing it was a natural but painful step in growing up.

As the day went on, Mama stayed near, grooming him and giving soft touches of comfort. Her heart ached to see her baby so sad, but she knew it was for his own good. Slowly, Tobi tasted a piece of banana and chewed it. It wasn’t as warm or comforting as milk, but it filled his tiny tummy.

Though the tears still came and he missed the closeness of nursing, Tobi was taking his first steps toward independence. And with his mother always close by, he would learn that growing up didn’t mean being alone—it just meant learning new ways to be strong.Tools
