Little newborn baby monkey Jacee was having a quiet morning nestled beside his mother, Joyce. But something seemed unusual today—Joyce kept looking closely at Jacee’s tiny face, gently touching around one of his eyes. The concerned mother appeared restless, constantly checking her baby’s eye as if she sensed something was wrong.
Jacee’s left eye didn’t open as widely as the right one. It looked slightly swollen, and sometimes he blinked too much. This made Joyce uneasy. She sniffed and softly groomed the area, hoping to soothe whatever was bothering her little one. Each time she tried to rest, she returned again and again to inspect that tiny eye, unable to settle.
Jacee, although so small and new to the world, squirmed and whimpered softly, leaning into his mother for comfort. His eye may have been irritated from birth or possibly poked during grooming or a fall, but whatever the cause, Joyce’s motherly instinct wouldn’t let her ignore it.
Other monkeys in the group passed by, some curiously glancing, but none dared to interfere. This was a private moment between mother and baby. Joyce’s devotion showed in every motion—careful licks, soft pats, and anxious looks.
Despite her worry, Joyce stayed strong and close to Jacee. She didn’t abandon him or let him suffer alone. Her heart as a mother was fully present. As the day went on, the swelling looked slightly better. Joyce relaxed just a little but didn’t stop watching.
The love between a monkey mom and her baby is powerful. Whatever happened to baby Jacee’s eye, one thing was sure—his mother would never give up trying to help him feel better.
