The jungle was quiet, but one small cry broke the calm — a heartbreaking sound coming from a tiny baby monkey named Nilo. His big round eyes were filled with tears as he looked up at his mother, Tima, who had just scolded him gently for wandering too far from the troop. Tima didn’t mean to hurt him — she only wanted to teach him right from wrong. But little Nilo, so young and tender, couldn’t understand why his loving mother had suddenly raised her voice.
Tima had always been a caring mom, holding Nilo close, grooming his soft fur, and letting him rest against her warm belly. But today, she was frightened. A snake had been spotted near the trees where Nilo had been playing, alone and unaware of the danger. In fear and panic, Tima rushed over, pulled him away, and gave a firm warning. It was the first time Nilo had ever seen this side of his gentle mother.
Now, Nilo sat alone under a tree, head low, his small arms hugging his legs. His sad little face showed the confusion only a baby could feel. He didn’t understand that her discipline came from love — that her firm words were meant to protect, not punish.
Tima watched from a short distance, her heart aching too. She slowly approached, gently picking Nilo up and cradling him again. He resisted for a second, still hurt, but soon melted into her arms. Tears still clung to his eyelashes, but the warmth of her love began to comfort him.
Discipline is sometimes misunderstood by little ones — but a mother’s love always finds a way to heal. Oh Goddess… that sad baby heart, now resting peacefully again, is safe in her arms.
